Radar Detector

Press Release Author = NetTrackers

Industry = Telecommunications

Press Release Summary = A radar detector is an electronic instrument used by auto
drivers as an indicator. It shows whether or not their speed is being observed by a
traffic enforcement official. Ironically, the term radar detector was taken from
early speed-detection techniques, where police would use a radio wave and bounce it
off of a moving vehicle. This would find out the car's speed with a tempered change
in the frequency of the wave, also known as the Doppler effect.

Press Release Body = A radar detector is an electronic instrument used by auto
drivers as an indicator.
Today, most of the
radar detectors can determine speeds by using a variety of different wavelength
bands including K, X and Ka bands.

The latest in speed detector technology uses something called LIDAR, that is also
commonly known as laser detection. This newer technology uses pulsing laser lights
to detect speeds. Current radar detectors have matched the technology in these laser
detectors, and adapted to become the new generation of 'radar detectors'. The new
laser radar detector can pick up on the infrared light that is being used to detect
speeds. Some new radar detector manufacturers claim that their radar detector can
not only pick up on the speed laser, but they can also disturb or even take over the
laser. These claims have no scientific evidence to support that this type of radar
detector can do anything more than detect the speed laser.

Even with the arrival of LIDAR speed detectors, radar is currently the most
preferred method for a number of reasons including cost. The best radar detectors
can cost several hundred dollars and can be purchased from some of the most popular
radar detector makers including Valentine One, Beltronics, Escort, Cobra and K40.

The Beltronics BEL Express Cordless 946 Cordless Radar Detector is one of the more
desirable Betronics detectors because of its cordless feature. Having a cordless
radar detector is a great idea if a person has more than one vehicle, or wants to
use a radar detector on their motorcycle. The BEL Express 946 protects from K, X and
Ka bands of police speed detectors. It also has a feature called the VG-2 guard,
which shuts the unit down as soon as it senses a radar detector 'detector'. The BEL
Express 946 is just one example of all the features a person can find in a radar
detector. The one thing that is not often mentioned in any radar detector
description is that all radar detectors tend to be extremely sensitive in work
zones. To this day there isn't any technology that can help to avoid this type of
sensitivity.
